Denis Schingh is a Franco-Ontarian pianist and composer, living in Toronto. He studied composition at the University of Ottawa, l’Université de Montréal, and the University of California at Berkeley. In his compositions, he creates sensual and personal sonic tapestries by blending elements of minimalism, ambient music, improvisation, and the avant-garde. Over the last decade, he has focused mainly on writing for solo piano. Denis also performs at various venues in Toronto, appearing regularly at Shangri-La Hotel and the Fairmount Royal York Hotel. He plays from a wide repertoire of classical, jazz, pop, blues, and rock music favorites.
