The Distillery Historic District, a cornerstone of Toronto’s renowned cultural landscape and widely recognized as Canada’s premier arts and entertainment destination, is calling on Buskers from far and wide!
This is an open call for Buskers interested in performing during our 2025 season, which runs from May 1 to October 13. We look forward to showcasing the incredible level of talent across the Busker industry!

KNOW BEFORE YOU APPLY:
- At The Distillery Historic District, Buskers are classified in two categories: Busker Permit Holders and Drop-In Buskers. Additional information is available in our 2025 Busker Program Guidelines.
- The Distillery Historic District restricts Busker performances to designated pitches on site. A Busker Map is available in our 2025 Busker Program Guidelines.
- We ask that you use our online form to apply for your Busker permit. We do not accept applications submitted in person, via mail, via email, or by any other method (unless requested). If you require additional support, please contact our events team.
- Circle Shows and Fire Acts require a permit to perform at The Distillery Historic District. There are designated pitches on site for these acts. If you are unsure whether a permit is required for your act, please contact our events team.
- The Distillery Historic District produces year-round programming. Additional opportunities may be available to Buskers, such as during The Distillery Winter Village. Site management will contact Buskers directly should an opportunity arise for busking during at The Distillery Winter Village. Drop-Ins are not permitted.
- The use of hazardous props (i.e., sharp knives) is prohibited at The Distillery Historic District. Props that could be perceived as hazardous (i.e. dull knives) must be disclosed in your Busker application. Drop-In Buskers who make use of props that could be perceived as hazardous must disclose this to site management prior to the start of their performance.

MAIN STAGE PROGRAMMING:
Are you a musician, band, or performer interested in participating in the Main Stage programming we produce at The Distillery Historic District (music festivals, curated events, etc.)?
We encourage you to submit an Artist Intent form. Artist Intent forms are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Please note that while all applicants are added to our Artist Directory, only select individuals and groups will be contacted. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
