  • Soma Chocolate has been crafting micro-batch chocolate on-site in The Distillery since 2007 — using vintage machines, hand‑sourced cacao, and a whole lot of magic. 🪄
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Founded by pastry chef David Castellan and architect Cynthia Leung in 2003, Soma began as a dream to bring joy through chocolate by making everything in-house, from roasting to refining to moulding. Today, you can still watch the process unfold through their tumbling machine window, where the scent of melted chocolate fills the air.

Everything about Soma Chocolate is rooted in making chocolate in Canada, for Canadians. They work closely with fellow Canadian makers, sourcing maple syrup and the most gorgeous strawberries from Niagara, and using local ingredients wherever possible. "Made in Canada" isn't just a label — it's the heart of everything they do.

If you’ve never tried bean-to-bar chocolate, put @somachocolatemaker at the top of your list — a creative space in The Distillery where things are still made thoughtfully, from scratch, and with intention. 🍫
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍 Find SOMA Chocolate (@somachocolatemaker) at 32 Tank House Lane, Distillery District.
